Who Am I?

The name given to me by my parents is Aston, but I go by the name Izzy Lucid. I’m a 19 year old Hip Hop artist, Songwriter and Music producer from the south of Johannesburg, South Africa.

I started taking an interest in music in 2009 as a hobby, but started focusing more on it and became serious about it in 2011. In 2012, I had my very first performance at a local church event. I moved on to perform at a club in late 2013, and a charity event in 2014. Somewhere in between these performances, I also had a lot of auditions including “SA’s Got Talent”. All of these performances were shared with other artists, but on the 7th of March 2015, I had my first solo performance in a club in the north of Johannesburg. I continued performing throughout the entirety of 2015, ending it off on the 30th of September with my biggest performance thus far, performing to a crowd of over 400 people.

I took a break from performing in 2016 to better the quality of all aspects of my music and also because I started my first year of college, studying Sound Engineering. I’ve been working on a lot of music since my career came into motion including 5 songs that I’ve released on SoundCloud(But taken down too).

I’ve been featured on a song by a good friend of mine Luke Knox (crazy great producer) called “Hotel Mulville” that got released with an overseas German label in 2016, and then collaborated with him on another song called “Too Long” released by a SoundCloud curator.

In March of 2017, I released a song titled “Only If She Knew” featuring the vocals of another
good friend Cei-ce. It was distributed on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Google Play and of course, SoundCloud, As well as my latest single “Bloodrose” on the 10th of November, on every major platform as well. I have recently been featured in an on-camera interview (my very first interview of any kind) with a well known Zimbabwean agency “Mudziyashe”
(being the first South African guest on their show “Double D”).

I’m working on a lot of projects, plans and concepts right now, all to be released soon.
Thanks to everyone that just lets me do these obscene things and supports my unrealistic, outrageous dreams.
