Lindo-mar Khumbane is young creative from Tsakane (East rand) A trained actor who later discovered he prefers being behind the scenes. He started writing content for his poetry show called INK MEET’S VOICE on a community radio station “Ekfm (103.6)” and Hosted another Poetry show called MY VOICE SESSION at an online radio station “Hillbrow radio” He tested his writing skills by creating a radio drama Called “welcome to Tsakane” for Ekfm which was well received by the listeners.
After hosting only poetry radio shows, he got exposed to a lot of poetry literature and made friends with a lot of poets all over Gauteng even online and that gave birth to him merging poetry with film. Instead of making poetry videos he decided to make short films using poetry and this is resulting him getting a following on social media He’s short films get more than 5000 views and lots of shares.
He dreams of making an actual film using poetry one day and believes South Africa will look at film with a different eye because of future projects he’s going to make.
Ziph’inkomo, meaning “where are the Cows” is Lindo-mar’s latest short movie that challenges the commercialising of iLobola.
It tells a story of a young man who falls in love with a girl and wants to Lobola her but her family charges him 100 000. He then begins comparing Lobola to then and what it is currently but how no tradition or culture can come between Lovers.
